Qatar End-of-Service Gratuity 2026: The 3-Week Rule Explained
→ Open the Qatar Gratuity Calculator
Qatar's end-of-service gratuity is one of the simplest in the Gulf: a flat minimum of three weeks' basic wage per completed year.
The rule
For each completed year of service you get at least 21 days (3 weeks) of your last basic wage. You must have completed at least one year. Contracts can offer more generous terms but never less than this statutory minimum.
Worked example
QAR 9,000 basic, 5 years: daily wage = 9,000 ÷ 30 = QAR 300; gratuity = 300 × 21 × 5 = QAR 31,500.
Key points
- Based on basic wage, not total package.
- Resignation and termination give the same gratuity once you're past one year.
- Unpaid leave doesn't count toward service.
